No More Bondage!!

Hello to all of my beautiful supporters. I pray you all are having a blast and living your best-blessed lives. Please read this blog post with caution because I believe it is a Holy Spirit filled blog post.

This blog has one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to encourage those of you who are in bondage (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, or financially) to release yourselves from it. God did not create your unique, talented, gifted, intelligent, beautiful soul to be locked up and confined to prison walls that hinder you from being who He destined you to be. If this applies to you, please do me a favor and scream ”I AM FREE, in Jesus name.” In John 8:36 NKJV it says, ”Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (The Son is Jesus Christ for those of you who do not know.) Jesus was ridiculed, beaten, bruised, locked up, and eventually crucified for your freedom. Yeah, I am going to let that sink in. The life that you are living right now – Jesus died, so you could have a chance to live it. What a selfless act of love right? It does not end there though, His great – life altering story continues. You can read it for yourself in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) if you are led or intrigued to do so.

Lets talk about bondage though. The other day I received about three or four different phone calls from people I care about dearly, and they all were calling because they either needed some form of advice or needed to vent. One thing about me is I love being there for those who need me, and I love being able to pour and give advice when needed. Also, I love being the ear that they need during tough times. The wiser I get, the more I understand that sometimes all people need is an ear to listen to them, and a mouth that stays shut. Nevertheless, after the phone calls, I instantly went into prayer because only God can refill/recharge me after pouring out words of encouragement, prayers, and etc.

While I was in prayer God started speaking to me about bondage. He started showing me how a plethora of us have become comfortable with resting in bondage, and how detrimental bondage is to our walks with and perception of Him.

If I can be transparent here, I remember there was a time where I unwarely rested in bondage. I would allow negative, derogatory, and diminishing thoughts to control my mood, actions, and eventually life, and guess what? That is a form of bondage. Allowing thoughts that are unlike the Fathers thoughts of you to have access to change how you treat others, speak to others, and walk life is a form of bondage. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, and if Holy Spirit rests on the inside of you – you are mandated to choose freedom daily. Some days may be tougher than most, but it is imperative that you choose freedom daily. Below I am going to list a few examples of bondages, and then I will release what the Father told me to release through this blog with prayers that it reaches those who need it.

Some Examples of Bondage

  1. Unforgiveness
  2. Offense
  3. Anger/frustration
  4. Lust
  5. Poverty
  6. Hatred
  7. Doubt
  8. Insecurity
  9. Pride
  10. Jealousy
  11. Fear
  12. Unhappiness

When I researched the definition of Bondage it said that bondage is the state of being a slave. You are probably wondering well how am I being a slave to any of the words listed above. If you are someone who struggles with one or many of those listed above, and are not actively trying to combat them or change internally – then yes, you are a slave to it because it is influencing you to act in ways you were not intended to act; controlling your life!

Example: I grew up in a broken home – dysfunctional family, and because of that my perceptions of people, family, friends, situations, and etc. for so long were distorted because I was viewing them through broken lenses. I was a slave to my negative perceptions, hatred, discontentment, and unforgiveness that I harbored in my heart towards my family. I thought that I could bury my feelings with success, the military, leaving the state, or getting married, but that was not the case. It was not until I started walking with Jesus Christ and taking Him seriously that I was able to break free from those bondages.

Most times, you have to face the demon(s) that have been controlling you, and find an everlasting way to break free from them, so you can live the life that God purposed for you. – Terran Z. Brodie

After God revealed that to me – I asked Him, “Why do your children enjoy being in bondage Father?” He replied, “Because they do not know Me.” After hearing that, I sat there and I wept uncontrollably for about five minutes because my heart broke. While I was crying , He was speaking to my heart telling me that many people proclaim to know Him, but they really do not. He said, they have not experienced an AUTHENTIC encounter with Him for themselves, and that many of them are living off of prophecies that were told to them by man instead of living off of His Holy word. He also said that many of His children are aware of others testimonies, but for some reason they cannot muster up the dignity to acknowledge how He has been Great to them. Very Heavy! After I was finished being emotional in God’s presence and praying for His children – I was able to sum up the four reasons why many enjoy being in bondage. The four reasons will be listed below.

4 Reasons Why Many Enjoy Being In Bondage

  1. They lack knowledge of who God is to them personally or refuse to acknowledge Him. They would rather sank in sin.
  2. They have not had an encounter with Jesus Christ.
  3. They are not in the presence of the Lord: Praying, fasting, worshipping, praising in Spirit and in Truth.
  4. The Father’s word is not hidden in their hearts. They are not studying the word to show themselves approved nor are they being hearer or doers of His word.

If any of you would like a Biblical reference of this you can read/study John 4: 4-26 which is the story of Jesus meeting the Samaritan woman at the well. Powerful story that delineates the word that God shared with me.

For those of you who are wondering well, how do I walk into freedom? How do I leave what is keeping me bound, and live the life God has purposed for me? God gave me a solution for you, and I believe it is going to help MANY of you who need it or choose to take heed.

How to Leave Bondage at Your Back Door

Step 1: Build a relationship with Jesus Christ. In Matthew 6:33 NKJV it says, ”But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” It is imperative that you seek God at all times in regards to your life. There is Everlasting Joy in His presence. YOU just have to desire to be in it. If you are not saved or walking with Christ – that of course will have to be your first step. Finding salvation in the Lord. Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and Confessing that He died on the cross for you.

Step 2: Experience God for yourself. Pray for encounters with Him, so your knowledge of who He is to you can become personal. In the book of Psalm, David was able to worship God in psalm because He had a personal relationship + his own definition of who God was to Him. If you are someone who is looking to experience God – go on a fast, go into your secret place or into hiding and worship the Father. Just you and Him and watch how He shows up for you. FAITH it until you make it!

Step 3: Get into the Presence of the Lord. Two of the ways I usher myself into God’s presence is through prayer and worship. Praying to God is simply you and God having a conversation. While worshiping and adoring Him prepares and postures your heart, mind, and soul to receive from Him. Get into His presence.

Step 4: Read the word of God. This is the part that many of us fail in, but it is one of the most important steps of all because it is the ultimate weapon to defeating the enemy and breaking free from bondage. Hebrews 4:12 NKJV says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” In other words, the word of God is powerful all by itself and is exactly what many need in order to break free from bondage. Lastly, It is imperative that you get into alignment with the word of God and hide it in your heart because it is what is going to assist in your breakthrough.

Whew. I know that was A LOT, but I bless God for it and pray that it blesses whomever it comes across. I am believing that you will break free from the bondages that are holding you back from flourishing into who God has destined you to be.

Fear – Doubt – Unforgiveness – Uncertainty – Aggravation – Lust – Poverty – Pride – Insecurity – Hatred and ETC. WILL NOT HAVE AUTHORITY OVER YOU ANY LONGER. In Jesus Name – because YOU ARE FREE!

My prayer is that as you seek God with all of your heart that you will find Him, and that He will deliver exactly what you need to you in this time and hour of your life.
